Using Out-of-Network Insurance Benefits

We do not bill insurance directly. However, if your plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be able to receive reimbursement for sessions. We provide a detailed receipt (“superbill”) with the information many insurance companies require.

When calling your insurance company, ask:

  1. Does this plan have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  2. How much is reimbursed for out-of-network counseling (percentage or dollar amount)?
  3. Is there a deductible that must be met before reimbursement begins?
  4. What must be included on a receipt to submit for reimbursement (diagnosis, Tax ID, NPI, etc.)?

After sessions, we can provide a superbill with proper diagnostic codes and provider details for you to submit. Reimbursement decisions and timing are determined by your insurance plan.

Reimbursement depends on your plan, deductible, and out-of-network coverage. Your insurance company can confirm what they will reimburse and what documentation they require.

A superbill is a detailed receipt that may include diagnosis and provider information (such as Tax ID and NPI), which you submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
